lucky 13 : pop up vow renewal at cupid's span in san francisco
Yes, it is our very own Stacey & Family Dillon! After years of watching others get married, Stacey wanted to do it all over again (she wasn’t an event designer yet, when they tied the knot in Lake Tahoe in 2003). But as the saying goes, “the cobbler’s kids have no shoes!” There was never enough time to plan something! A 10th anniversary celebration with a brand new baby in tow would not have worked and the 11th came and went amidst a very busy wedding and event season. But since they were married on September 13th, they decided to celebrate LUCKY 13!
behind the scenes
Yes, it is our very own Stacey & Family Dillon! After years of watching others get married, Stacey wanted to do it all over again (she wasn’t an event designer yet, when they tied the knot in Lake Tahoe in 2003). But as the saying goes, “the cobbler’s kids have no shoes!” There was never enough time to plan something! A 10th anniversary celebration with a brand new baby in tow would not have worked and the 11th came and went amidst a very busy wedding and event season. But since they were married on September 13th, they decided to celebrate LUCKY 13!
So a pop up ceremony on a Tuesday evening was planned at Cupid’s Span (a landmark art installation) on The Embarcadero in San Francisco. With their three kids, their parents and their inner circle, Ian & Stacey said “I Do, Again!” Of course things are much different when you have a 2 year old giving away the bride, but still very special and touching. This time the vows were based on keeping a family of FIVE alive and well, trying to live the BEST life possible and to (re)commit to many, many, more years to come (as both husband & wife and a WHOLE family unit! Ian & Stacey exchanged vows and each of the children had their own “I Dos” as well. Stacey gave Reiley & Bailey matching mother-daughter bracelets and Cooper James and Ian were dapper in coordinating custom made bow ties.
Following the ceremony, officiated by one of the original bridesmaids, guests made their way down The Embarcadero to an al fresco drinks & snacks reception at MarketBar in the historic Ferry Building.
(Insider information: Stacey & Ian had their first date (after meeting on the internet), just down the way at Pier 23 – where Ian also proposed after a San Francisco scavenger hunt engagement adventure! So saying “Yes” along the Bay brings everything full circle)
